Tokyo Gaijins support the Tokyo Yamathon; one of the biggest urban charity races in Japan!

Joining one of the TG Yamathon Teams means walking in funny costume around Yamanote Line (about 40-46kms in under 12 hours).

100% of the event fee will go towards Plan International to build a computer facility for a school in Sri Lanka!.

Another bucket list checked while doing good for the society, and having fun at the same time...

Event Itinerary

  • Meet your TG teammates at Tokyo TOKIA building at 7am
  • Registration/pickup the bibs
  • Chat with TG crew/group pictures/get excited
  • Start the Tokyo Yamathon at 8am
  • Walk/run/jog around Yamanote line taking different/crazy group pose/picture at each station
  • Stop for lunch half-way around Shibuya area
  • Finish the race between 5pm-8
  • Enjoy a few drinks at the post-race party
  • Have a few more drinks with the TG crew in Roppongi (optional)

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • You MUST have your own insurance (health, social, company, etc.) to be able to join.
  • This event is organised by Tokyo Yamathon. Tokyo Gaijins are just joining as one of the sponsors and participants, as well.
  • Walking/jogging/running around/along Yamanote line is about 40-46kms depending on the route you take.
  • All teams are required to finish the race in under 12 hours to get the Certificate of Completion.
  • Reasonable fitness required.
  • You can invite your friends and make your own team (of 4 people).
  • Joining with a friend or two or alone is totally fine. We'll assign you in one of our teams.
  • Final details will be sent by email two days before the event.
