Learn to Surf or SUP (Stand-up Paddle) boarding!

Join one of our beach day trips down to the beautiful Onjuku, famous for it's white sandy beach, for an introduction to surfing and stand-up paddle boarding lessons.

Lesson held in small groups with Japanese NSA licensed surfing/SUP boarding instructors, in English or Japanese. They provide surfboards, SUP board/paddle and wetsuits or rash tops.

You will also have a plenty of time to relax on the beach before and after the surfing and stand-up paddling lessons.

Trip Itinerary

  • Meet at (Toei) Mita station A9 exit at 8:45am (if taking the private bus)
  • Meet the rest of the group at Onjuku station at 10:10am (if taking the train)
  • Surfing/SUP boarding lessons and relax on the beach (10:45am-3:45pm)
  • Take a hot shower (or try the local onsen next door)
  • Have some beers on the deck of Flying Sumo to finish the day
  • Get on the bus at 4:30pm (if taking the private bus)
  • Head back to Tokyo anytime you want (if taking the train)

Important Notes

Surfing lesson video
  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • You MUST have your own insurance (health, social, company, etc.) to be able join.
  • This event is ON rain or shine!
  • Minimum of 3 persons to run the SUP boarding lessons.
  • The Flying Sumo is a great place to chill out with their cafĂ© famous for pizza and imported bottle beers. Eat on their large veranda or take it down to the beach which is a short walk away.
  • Parking lot available (for a fee) in case you want to come by car.
  • Final details will be sent to the participants by email two days before the event.
