Myoko Suginohara is extremely famed as one of the highest-caliber ski slopes in Japan, with 1,124m in vertical drop and the longest ski run at an unbelievable distance of 8.5km in length. This course has everything any skier/snowboarder could desire with the runs being wide open or tree lined.

Nozawa Onsen is considered by many experienced riders as the best ski resort in Japan in many aspects such as mountain/resort size, slopes and layout, consistent snow fall, quality and amount of powder, weather, amazing tree runs, backcountry, accessibility/location, apres ski bars, onsens, traditional town and very friendly locals.

Trip Itinerary

Friday (Feb 14)

  • Meet in Shinjuku at 7:30pm
  • Get on the bus
  • Have a relaxing drink (or two), chat with other participants and get excited
  • Short stop for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive at Myoko Suginohara around midnight
  • Check-in at the lodge
  • Go straight to sleep (or lobby for a drink or two)

Saturday (Feb 15)

  • Breakfast at 7:30am
  • Get the gear on
  • Ski/snowboarding at Myoko Suginohara until 4:30pm
  • Enjoy the hot shower/bath or visit the local onsen nearby
  • Take a nap, relax and/or have some drinks
  • Dinner at 6pm
  • Apres-ski party/bar hopping in Akakura town

Sunday (Feb 16)

  • Breakfast at 7am
  • Get the gear on/check-out of the room
  • Get on the bus at 7:30am
  • Arrive at Nozawa Sparena around 8:20am
  • Leave luggage in the bus or lockers
  • Ski/snowboarding at Nozawa Onsen until 3pm
  • Visit one of the FREE public onsens or Sparena
  • Get on the bus at 4pm
  • Short stop for food/snacks on the way
  • Arrive back in Shinjuku around 8:30pm

Important Notes

  • Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions, and other unavoidable circumstances.
  • Free SKIS/BOOTS/POLES and SNOWBOARD/BOOTS RENTAL (up to JPN boots size 28cm only) are offered at Myoko Suginohara lodge. The gears are old but of functional quality.
  • You can rent directly at Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort's rental shop if you want a better gear.
  • Rooms will be allocated to your preference.
  • Minimum of 4 and maximum of 5 persons per room.
  • Male/Female only rooms are available.
  • Group of friends can have their own room.
  • Private room for 2 persons available for an extra fee on a first-come/first-served basis (Very limited rooms).
  • Most restaurants and shops in the ski resorts don't accept credit cards so please bring enough cash.
  • Lunch not provided but available at the ski resort.
  • Free ski/snowboarding lesson is on Saturday (Feb 15) from 9:30am until 12pm.
  • Lift pass will not be provided if you avail the beginners and first-timers discount.
  • You don't need a lift pass to join our free ski/snowboarding lessons. However, if you're a fast learner and would want to ride the chairlifts, you can buy a "ride ticket" which costs around 300-350yen per ride. On average, beginners only take the chairlifts 4-5 times the entire weekend. Some beginners, not at all!
  • We will try to accommodate all dietary requirements. However, we are unable to guarantee the hotel/lodge can cater for every meal.
  • Soap, shampoo and rinse are provided in the bath (ofuro).
  • Towels available for rent at the lodge for 200yen.
  • You can send your gear by delivery service (takkyubin) to the hotel. Address will be provided upon request.
  • Final details will be sent to the participants by email two days before the event.
