Arakurayama Sengen Park, Jukai 'Suicide' Forest, Caves and Autumn Leaves Walk Trip

2017 November 5 (Sunday)

Narusawa, Yamanashi

Let's explore and discover another one of Japan's hidden gems!

This Trip Features;

  • Arakurayama Sengen Park with it's many stairs leading to seasonal autumn leaves, a 5 storey pagoda that makes a dramatic and picture perfect view of Mt. Fuji.
  • Aokigahara Jukai Forest, better known as the 'Suicide Forest' or Sea of Trees, is a forest thriving on 30 square kilometers of hardened lava laid down by the last major eruption of Mt. Fuji in 864 AD. Sad facts, Jukai Forest is one of the most popular suicide destinations in the world so walking thru the forest on it's beautiful nature trail can be spooky.
  • Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave; a designated Natural Monument. It is a 153m long lava cave with an air hole in a vertical circular shape, created after the outpouring of lava, and located in Aokigahara Jukai. There are ice pillars inside all year round. Walk around the circular cave, enjoying its various expressions.
  • Fuji Fugaku Wind Cave; is 201 meters long in total and 8.7 meters high, and will take 15 minutes to explore. In the past, it was used as a natural refrigerator to keep silkworms or species. Ice pillars which form every year are well known. Echoes do not occur in this cave because the wall of basaltic rock has a property which absorbs sound
  • Ryugu Doketsu; a 96m deep lava cave which enshrines the water god Tyotamahime no mikoto and is also a designated natural monument. Entrance into the cave not permitted.
  • Koyodai; a view spot to see Mt. Fuji upclose and just in front of you. It is a lovely landscape that you can get a view of Mt. Fuji and the vast ocean of trees of Aokigahara which widely spreads on the foot of the iconic mountain and to the other side of it.
  • Gorgeous view of Saiko Lake and the surrounding mountains covered in autumn leaves
  • Fuji Yurari Spa; onsen with a superb view of Mt. Fuji

A trip you will spend days to visit and explore on your own but with our well thought itinerary and fun outdoor group you'll be able to see and enjoy in just one day!

Don't miss out!
