Kouzushima long weekend trip September 17~19 (Saturday~Monday) Kouzushima island, Tokyo

Kouzushima offers many exciting activities that the other islands don't, including mountain hiking with unique breathtaking 360° panoramic views, warm and crystal clear ocean waters to snorkel, swim, CLIFF and PLATFORM dive into, onsens, camping ON the beach with beautiful ocean views and dramatic sunsets, beach volleyball, beach parties, and so much more.

This is the perfect get away from your busy fast paced life. So you can just slow down, relax, and unwind in an island paradise while working on your tan, playing on the beach or in the water, and enjoying the company of new and old friends. Whether you are one of the many who have enjoyed our past island trips, or this is your first time, this is one trip that is unique and should not be missed.

A brief description of what will happen on the event:

Platform diving @Akazaki Promenade

* Friday (Sep 16)
• Meet at Takeshiba pier at 9:45pm • Orientation • Distribution of camping supplies • Get on the ferry at 10:45pm • Overnight ferry ride (we'll drink, party and sleep on the deck floor)

* Saturday (Sep 17)
• Arrive in Kouzushima island at 9am • Get on the private shuttle bus to the campsite • Have fun setting-up the tents • Relax/swim in the ocean • Lunch at 12pm (provided) • Take the local shuttle bus (200yen) or walk (20mins) to Akazaki Promenade • Bridge/platform diving/jumping, snorkeling and sightseeing until 4pm • Outdoor onsen (optional) • Dinner at 6pm • Bonfire drinking party until you drop • Stay overnight camping on the beach

* Sunday (Sep 18)
• Breakfast at 7:30am • FREE TIME (9am~6pm) • Dinner at 6pm • Bonfire drinking party until you drop • Stay overnight camping on the beach

* Monday (Sep 19)
• Breakfast at 7:30am • Pack up the tents • Get on the private shuttle bus to the pier • Last dip/swim in the warm ocean • Get on the ferry at 9:15am • Ferry ride (we'll drink, party and sleep on the deck floor) • Arrive back in Tokyo around 5:30pm

Summit of Mt. Tenjo

Price includes;
• Round-trip ferry fare (deck seats) • Private shuttle bus transportation (Pier-Campsite-Pier only) • Lunch for Saturday (pasta) • Dinner for Saturday and Sunday • Breakfast for Sunday and Monday • Camping supplies (tents, mats, headlights, batteries, etc.) • Cooking stuff (BBQ grill, coal, etc.) • Miscellaneous items (plates, chopsticks, garbage bags, cooler box, ice, etc.) • Music • Accident insurance • 5% consumption tax

Take note of the following:

Beach volleyball @Maehama beach

• Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions and other unavoidable circumstances.
• In the event of a typhoon or other unfriendly weather, we will postpone the event to the following weekend, Sep 23~25 (also a long weekend), so better if you have both weekends free.
• Ocean temperature is at its warmest this time of the year.
• Seat upgrade is possible if you don't want to sleep on the deck floor.
• 2,000yen discount if providing own tents and mats.
• Maximum of 4 persons per tent.
• Small tents for couples available without extra charge.
• The roads in Kouzushima are very hilly and not recommended for cycling unless you are bringing a mountain bike.
• Vegetarians will be accommodated.
• Booze/drinks available on the boat and in Kouzushima.
• Lunch for Monday available on the ferry.
• A 10% cancellation fee will apply (to pay for logistics and other organizing expenses) in case of trip cancellation due to bad weather or typhoon.
• Final details will be sent to the participants by email two days before the event.
• Maximum of 64-participants!

Outdoor activities:

Bonfire party at the campsite

Beach side camping; beautiful ocean view and dramatic sunset, well maintained, good facilities, cold shower, Western/Japanese style toilet available, 8mins walk to the outdoor onsen.
Hiking; a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED hike up to the summit of Mt. Tenjo with 360° breath-taking panoramic view. It will take around 2.5hrs up and down, another extra 2~3hrs if you do the loop. Private shuttle bus can be arranged for a fee if there are enough people joining the hike.
Walking/sightseeing; walk along the Akazaki Promenade while enjoying the breathtaking coastline views. See Buttooshi-iwa, a gorgeous rock formation along Nagahama beach.
Bridge/platform jumping/diving; there are designated spots to do it along the Akazaki Promenade walking path. This is one of the highlights of the trip!
Snorkeling; a great spot right down the Akazaki Promenade walking path. One of the best snorkeling spots in Japan! Snokeling kit is not available for rental so bring your own.
Beach; relax, swim, sleep, play frisbee or volleyball on Maehama and Nagahama beach.
Onsen; a nice outdoor onsen with ocean view, mixed, swimsuit required, separate indoor baths, open until 9pm, just an 8min walk from the campsite. Admission is 800yen.
