Spend the day walking along a river bank admiring beautiful cherry blossoms trees, and gorgeous waterfalls one after another!
This trip features;
- Kawazu Sakura Festival; one of the earliest and best places to see and view 'cherry blossoms'.
- The famous Kawazu Seven Waterfalls
- Amagisou Spa's outdoor onsen right on the bank of the river and next to Odaki; the beautiful and biggest amongst the seven waterfalls
The Kawazu Sakura Festival takes place along the banks of the Kawazu River, which is lined by seemingly never-ending rows of Kawazu Cherry Trees stretching for about 4 kilometers. Typically, the trees close to where the river flows into the ocean, start to open their cherry blossoms first, before it gradually spreads north towards the Kawazu Seven Waterfalls.
Almost equally numerous are festival stalls that lined the walking path along the river, offering a wide selection of cooked food, dried goods, locally produced citrus fruits, souvenirs, and small kawazuzakura trees that can be taken home and planted. Yellow rape blossoms which open at about the same time as the Kawazuzakura add to the lovely scenery.
The Kawazu Seven Waterfalls are located in the mountains above Kawazu Town. A pleasant walking trail leads approximately 1.5 kilometer through the forest and past the waterfalls.
Finish the day relaxing at Amagisou Spa's outdoor onsen right on the bank of the river and next to Odaki; the beautiful and biggest amongst the seven waterfalls. This place is probably one of the best and most scenic outdoor onsens in Japan. Highly recommended!
