A brief description of what will happen on the day:

The "Rise Up" practice

• Meet at Ogose station (one exit only) at 8:15am • Get on the service van • Stop at a conbini on the way to buy lunch and drinks • Arrive at the training ground around 9am • Fill-out insurance form • Get the gear on • Stretching • Safety talk • Learn about and practice the control basics • Practice the rise up (make the canopy rise by running into the wind as fast as you can) • Have lunch at 12pm (not provided) • More rise-up practice until 2pm • Fly-off a 15m hill (the main challenge) • Finish the course at 4pm • Have fun folding the paragliders • Get on the service van • Drive back down to Ogose station • Arrive back in Tokyo around 7:30pm

Take note of the following:

The "Take off"

• Itinerary may vary due to the weather, traffic conditions, and other unavoidable circumstances.
• We'll stop by at a convenient store to buy lunch, snacks and drinks on our way to the paragliding training ground.
• The instruction will be in Japanese but there will be a translator so no need to worry if you don't understand Japanese.
• Participant's maximum weight allowed is 95kgs.
• Reasonable fitness not necessary but an advantage.
• 15m hill is not a total vertical drop so don't worry.
• Rise-up is how to make the canopy rise by running into the wind.
• Hiking boots or sports shoes w/ ankle protector is a MUST!
• Be aware that although this event is a lot of fun and thrills, it's also hard work because it involves a lot of running plus you have to hike-up and fly-down that 15m hill maybe twice or three times depend on the wind condition.
• Final details will be sent by email two days before the event.
• Maximum of 15-participants!

What to wear/bring:

• Clothes appropriate to the weather • Hiking boots or sports shoes with ankle protection • Long sleeve shirt (no t-shirt) • Comfortable long sports pants (no shorts/no jeans) • Gloves (cheap ones ok) • Rain coat (in case of bad weather) • Small towel • Hat • Sunscreen • Lunch • Softdrinks • Water • Snacks • Camera • Cellphone • Cash
